Open 7 Days a Week!
Monday to Friday 6:30am - 7:00pm
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays 7:00am - 6:00pm
Requirements
-
All young puppies must have had a minimum of 2 sets of puppy shots including bordetella and be 12 weeks or older. For the safety of your puppy, please allow 3-5 days after your puppy's vaccinations before attending daycare to allow your puppy to build a proper immunity.
-
All dogs attending daycare must have proof of vaccinations or appropriate titre test results. Required vaccines are DHLPP (Parvo/distemper combo) which must be done every 3 years and Bordetella (kennel cough) which must be updated every year. Those that do not choose to vaccinate regularly can provide titre test results for Parvo/Distemper done within the last 6 months.
-
We prefer that all dogs over 6 months of age be spayed or neutered. (Exceptions can be made for well behaved large breed puppies up to one year of age, CKC Registered Working/Show dogs or a letter from your veterinarian that spaying or neutering would currently be harmful to the health of your dog.)
-
Dogs attending daycare must not be people aggressive. We do, however, have 5 different play yards to suit many different play styles and will accept dogs that need help learning to play and socialize in a group setting. We will work with your dog and help to integrate them into a group setting if possible. Canine Harmony has had many success stories with slowly integrating anxious or unsocial dogs into group play to help your dog become more relaxed and social. Please inquire if your dog is suitable for this program. For the safety of all our clients, dogs with severe dog aggression and a bite history may not be suitable for daycare
-
For your dog's safety - NO choke chains, martingale or training collars will be allowed in daycare. Dogs must wear a comfortably fitting flat quick release buckle collar for play time. If you do not have a buckle collar, we will provide one for your dog to wear while in dayare. Training collars may be used to get to and from the car, but are not allowed while playing in a group setting.
-
We prefer that all dogs have an updated name tag with your name and phone number on their collar for safety purposes.

- Real fire hydrants (non working) for peeing on and leaving messages to other daycare dogs
Health and Safety Features
- Outdoor play areas are surrounded by 6 foot high chain link fencing
- Dog-proof secure triple door safety system PLUS extra fence and gate at entrance to avoid accidental escapes
- Outdoor play area is covered in rounded, small pebble gravel. Gravel keeps yard area clean and sanitary.
- Smaller outdoor and covered play areas are professionally surfaced in artificial turf for sensitive feet and cleanliness
- No Bark Mulch or wood shavings - bark mulch and wood shavings are the perfect surface to hold bacteria and germs and can be dangerous and/or toxic to pets. There is no bark mulch or wood chips used anywhere!
- Outdoor play area is shaded in the hot summer months by a small apple tree and a large walnut tree. All accessible plants and trees are non-toxic and safe if ingested. During late fall, dogs may eat fresh apples off the tree for a tasty snack!
- Fresh water is provided at all times in stainless steel buckets or dishes. Plastic dishes are never used as they hold bacteria and germs and can be harmful if chewed or ingested. Water is refreshed several times during the day to keep the water fresh and encourage drinking.
- Indoor resting/lunch area is a non slip vinyl floor that is easily cleaned and sanitized. Walls are professionally sealed concrete extending 4 feet up all wall surfaces to make them safe, sanitary and easily cleaned.
- Covered outdoor play area is done in artificial turf for a non-slip, safe and comfortable surface while playing on rainy days
- Only name brand cleaners and disinfectants are used to clean the indoor play area and dishes. No store brands or cheap imitations are ever used! All surfaces and dishes are cleaned daily and sanitized regularly for the health of your dog
- All indoor areas are cleaned and sanitized daily
- All outdoor play areas are sanitized a minimum of 2 times per week! (Do any other daycares sanitize their play yards?)
- Indoor resting/lunch areas are equipped with fire/smoke detectors, universal fire extinguisher, dehumidifiers and home air quality is continually monitored with CO2 detector
- All heaters, when used during colder months, have built in safety sensors and automatically shut off if they tip over or overheat
- All toys, when provided, are suitable for all sizes of dogs and are virtually indestructible. Examples of toys are large rubber balls for fetching that cannot be swallowed by even larger dogs, black rubber Kongs, large 5 foot long natural cotton ropes for playing tug, pieces of clean unused fire hose for fetching or tugging and sterilized bones for chewing during quiet time. Damaged toys are immediately removed. Toys will only be provided for play with dogs who are not toy obsessive or toy possessive. If toys become a problem during play, they will be immediately removed.
- Toys are sanitized several times per week
- Dog First Aid Kit is fully stocked and located indoors for easy access. Owner is Canine First Aid Certified and has also attended a class on Canine Trauma Care. Staff are regularly trained in Canine First Aid and safety procedures.
- Owner is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer with 6 years professional experience in canine training and behavior. Early warning signs of unsuitable behavior or problems between dogs can be detected and prevented before problems arise. All staff are trained to see problems before they arise and take appropriate action to diffuse any stressful situations for the dogs.
- Several play areas so that dogs can be divided into play groups according to their personalities.
- Dogs are under constant supervision by fully qualified Dog Care Specialists. When dogs go inside for nap time or lunch time, they are separated into individual pens or kennels for safety. Dogs are never left together with other dogs when unattended and are always safely separated when unsupervised for meals or rests.
- Twice daily health checks for all dogs in our care. We thoroughly check paws, eyes, ears, nails, body and coat condition. Any health concerns will be brought to your attention immediately (if important) or upon pick up if minor. Please do not be alarmed if we inform you that we have cleaned your dogs ears and that your dog may have an ear infection or need a nail trim etc. We care about your dogs and only want the best for them! We will care for and treat anything we are able to or inform you of needed veterinary care.
- A thorough application process ensures that all dogs are friendly and suitable for a daycare environment. Any dogs that display minor behavioral problems will be worked with during daycare, when appropriate, to ensure safe, friendly play manners. Owners will be immediately notified if their dog exhibits any aggressive or dangerous behavior that is harmful to other daycare dogs or themselves. Aggressive or dangerous dogs will be deemed unsuitable for daycare until such time as training can be provided to resolve problem behaviors.
- Only a predetermined list of people are allowed to pick up your dog. A secure system keeps strangers or other unsuitable people from picking up your dog from daycare. ID will be checked for anyone other than the owners picking up your dog from daycare.
- Internal 7 Camera Video Monitoring System on motion activated record to ensure that your dog is always safe and secure! Cameras monitor all internal rooms as well as parking lot and driveway access so that we know what is happening anywhere at any time!
- Canine Harmony is fully licensed and insured with an insurance policy that is made just for dog business owners rather than a general business policy that only covers other types of non-specific businesses
