6 weeks, 1 Hour Per Week
Minimum Age: 6 Months + 
Price: $155 including HST


Prerequisite: Foundations Obedience, other Basic Obedience Class or approval of Instructor. 

Skill Builders is a stepping stone to off-leash obedience. Using tools such as long lines and food and toy distractions, we will improve upon and reinforce all skills learned in Foundations Obedience and prepare you and your dog for Advanced Obedience. 

 

  • Introduction to Hand Signals
  • Down/Sit on Long Lines
  • Heeling with No Hands, Figure Eight Heeling
  • Stay with Distractions on Long Lines and "Stand for Exam"
  • Recall on Long Lines and "The Finish"
  • Review, Exam and Graduation

No limit on family members attending. We encourage all family members, including well behaved children to attend the class and take turns working with the dog. 

Required Equipment:

- A 4 to 6 foot long nylon or leather leash
- A 15-20 foot long nylon or leather leash - no retractible leashes please 
- Your dogs regular collar 
- Some soft, tasty dog treats that are easy to break into small pieces 


Treats will be provided for the first class 

Please bring proof of vaccinations (within the last 3 years) to the first class with you. Please be sure your dog has been vaccinated for Bordetella (kennel cough) as this is not always a required vaccine. If you choose to titre test your dogs, please bring your titre records instead. 

Note:

Because classes fill up quickly, you must pre-register and pay for class no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE CLASSES in order to reserve a space.  Spaces that are reserved, but not paid for will not be held past this date and may be given to other dogs waiting to take the class.  You may pay on our website with Paypal, credit card or direct bank transfer or a cheque can be mailed to Canine Harmony, 17778 24 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3S 9V2. Please allow time for your cheque to arrive before the cut-off date.
